Vacancy- Program Assistant

Job Summary:

The Program Assistant is responsible for assisting with the coordination to ensure smooth implementation of program and operations’ activities in the county of assignment along with adherence to logistic, human resource, administration procedures.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

  • Attend various weekly and monthly county coordination meetings and provide written reports.
  • Assist with the implementation of a community outreach strategy. Maintain files, logs and other documents of program work in a neat and organized manner
  • Provide monthly report on activities in county in coordination with other key KEEP staff from the field.
  • Coordinate community awareness and information sessions, including securing space, maintaining attendee list and preparing materials
  • Participates in and conduct trainings at community level.
  • Ensure implementation is in compliance with KEEP’s established policies and procedures.
  • Provide support on projects being implemented by KEEP including reading rooms creation,  economic livelihood projects, computer literacy programs, etc.
  • Attend various coordination or key meetings on KEEP’s behalf.
  • Provide coordination and effective management and direction of programme activities in the county.
  • Serve as key focal point for Youth Program Activities.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly and monthly work-plans that clearly sets performance targets, and identify challenges and strategies to achieve project aims in coordination with the Program Coordinator.
  • Perform any other duty as may be required

Requirements

  • At least 1 year previous field experience with a non-profit organization, ideally in a similar role.
  • Minimum of AA Degree in Education, Social Work Management is required.
  • Must be computer literate and proficient working in MS Word & Excel.
  • Community engagement experience is desired.
  • Good communication skills. Both written and spoken is required.
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English (written & spoken).
  • Ability to multitask and deal with stressful situations and problem solve.
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment and a team setting.
  • Available to work at flexible schedule that includes evenings and sometimes  weekends.
