A one day validation meeting was held on March 21, 2025 bringing together 27 representatives from the Ministry of Education, National Parents Teachers Association (NPTA), National Teacher Association of Liberia (NTAL), other civil society organizations and education partners.
The one day meeting is the first of several to be held over the next two months to review and finalize three important policy documents:
- National School Administrators Guidebook
- National Students’ Handbook
- National Reading Strategy
These policies aim to enhance school leadership, establish clear student expectations, and advance literacy development
The one day validation entailed ensuring a thorough review of the draft polices drafted by the technical Working Group (TWG) co-established by the Ministry of education and KEEP Liberia who leads on this crucial process.
Participants engaged in structured discussions, providing valuable insights and recommendations to enhance the content and implementation strategies. Discussions were made based on international education benchmarks, national reading benchmarks and priorities, and data-driven recommendations.
The process continues over the next two months with the next level of validations being opened up to a wider section of key actors in the sector, with the goal of final launch in May 2025 for immediate roll out once formal approval is obtained from the MoE’s Senior Management Team (SMT).
