On May 24, 2017, the Destined Girls for Positive Change Girls Forum received a donation of one oven (with accessories) to support their baking training which commences in a few days.
The donation comes after the official signing of an MOU between the Union of Liberian Organizations in the United Kingdom (ULO-UK) and KEEP after several months of discussions on how the two organizations can partner to support the education sector in Liberia.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Forum, its president, Charlotte Konneh thanked both organizations for the donation and could not contain her excitement over the upcoming trainings. She thanked KEEP for always supporting them, first through sewing trainings, public speaking caching and now, baking skills. She said these are skillsets they can take beyond the orphanage and use where ever they go.
The partnership between the two organizations will help ensure a regular supply of educational materials for reading rooms ran by KEEP in Liberia. It also affords ULO-UK the platform to support the educational needs of young people in Liberia.
Representing the president of ULO-UK, Mr. Fidel C. T. Budy, Secretary General of ULO-UK thanked KEEP’s Founder, Mrs. Brewer-Moore for providing the platform for ULO-UK to donate to a worthy cause. He praised the strength of the young ladies and encouraged them to utilize their skills to empower themselves and contribute to Liberian society.
The journey to empower these young ladies continues.
Thanks ULO-UK
