After several months of planning and coordination, we are excited that a 40-foot container of books arrived in Liberia to stock our existing Reading Rooms, future rooms and to share with other needy schools.
The container has approximately 22,000 books and was obtained in partnership with Books For Africa and through a grant from the Better World Trust Fund which paid for the shipping of the container at the cost of U$12,500. The cost of the books is estimated by Books For Africa to be U$285,000.
Special thanks to KEEP’s Corporate Sponsors as well as individuals who supported our various fundraising events which enabled us to clear the container from the Freeport of Monrovia (clearing cost amounted to U$4000, even with duty free privileges).
