On Saturday November 11, 2023, KEEP hosted a Luminos Fund Second Chance program refresher training in Montserrado and Gbarpolu Counties.
A total of 38 Second Chance program facilitators attended and participated in the workshop.
This workshop is designed for facilitators to share their successes and challenges, and practice essential aspects of the second chance program such as classroom management, lesson presentation, intensive coaching, etc.
The refresher workshop provided participants the opportunity to revisit and enhance their skills, knowledge, and mindset.
Through a series of interactive sessions, participants shared ideas, engaged in reflective exercises, learned updated strategies, and gained insights to empower them on their second chance journey.
Topics covered included Letter sounds & recognition, Number recognition & counting, Time & classroom management, Intensive student coaching, Teaching phonics, Blending letter sounds, Reading, Effective student engagement, and Child protection and safeguarding.
By fostering a supportive and safe learning environment, the workshop encourages participants to embrace new possibilities and make the most of their classroom resources and time.
