In February, KEEP provided 600 composition notebooks to Destined Kids (DEKAP) Liberia to support its admirable work with visually and physically challenged kids in and around Liberia.
DEKAP is providing education support to orphans, indigents and children of disabled blind parents who are primarily engaged in street beggaring as a means to financially support their parents. The organization places a special focus on the rights of disadvantaged women and girls. It also provides monthly food support to disabled blind parents in order to keep their children in school.
KEEP has supported DEKAP in the past and sponsors 4 of its beneficiaries. Making the donation on behalf of KEEP, the Board ChairladyMrs. Chantal Wiles Doe extended thanks to Tools For Learning as a lot of children in Liberia really need support in their educational journey. She noted that many parents do want to do more for their children, but
most times cannot due to low income and limited employment opportunities. She assured T4L that the books will be put to the proper use.
Responding, the Executive Director of DEKAP Helena Wenneh was thrilled and excited about the donation as she had been wondering that with the reopening of the schools for the second semester how to reach out to the kids they support and God sent KEEP in at the opportune time. She noted that the composition notebooks would go far in helping many families at this critical time and thanked KEEP for the collaboration and support.
We at KEEP are happy that we are able to impact the education of many children.
