KEEP Liberia in partnership with CSquared has officially dedicated her 34th reading room. The space is an ICT, Wifi, and digital resource center in Ganta city, Nimba county, at the JW Pearson High School.
The reading room is going to provide a safe, conducive reading space for over 1,200 students in the school and community, as well as basic computer literacy training.
Thanks to our partner, CSquared Africa, for their collaboration and support to our work and promoting a digitally connected Liberia.
CSquared is a technology company, committed to a digitally connected Africa by making impactful investments into open-access broadband enabling infrastructure throughout the continent.
CSquared recently completed construction of a 350 km backbone fiber network crossing 13+ towns in Margibi, Bong and Nimba counties and connecting Monrovia to the Ivory Coast and Guinea borders. The establishment of Liberia’s first open-access backbone fiber network has enabled CSquared to roll out a wholesale Internet Service Provider driven community wifi in Ganta.
“CSquared has always championed the transformative power of digitalisation as critical to improving ease of doing business and increasing access to a global economy and opportunities. We are committed to supporting Liberia on its journey towards becoming an agile, connected and digitally competitive player.” stated Lanre Kolade, CEO.
In a message from Brenda Brewer Moore, our Founder & Executive Director, she expressed that “KEEP Liberia is excited to partner with CSquared Liberia in creating this resource center in Ganta. The school we have selected has never had a library, so the partnership to create this space is not only well timed, but also very much needed. We look forward to working with the students, teachers and community dwellers in building both their reading skills and digital literacy skills.”
At KEEP, we remain dedicated to creating a culture of reading in Liberia, one reading room at a time.
