On December 8, 2023, KEEP in partnership with APM Terminals dedicated a fully furnished mini library/reading room at the Marvii Sonii public school in Clara town, Bushrod Island, Montserrado County. Marvii Sonii falls under the Monrovia Consolidated School System, and it is headed by a dedicated and organized female administrator, Mrs. Mildred S. Dennis. The dedication brought together the Managing Director of APM Terminal Mr. Clay Crain and delegates, staff of KEEP-Liberia, the District Education Officer of Greater Monrovia District 2B, the principal and staff of Marvii Sonii Public School, etc. The dedicatory program was held in the auditorium of the school.
The creation of this room is made possible by funding and collaboration of AMP Terminals. APM Terminals has been a trusted and dedicated partner to KEEP LIBERIA since our inception in 2014.
At the program, the principal of the school, Mrs. Mildred S. Dennis, congratulated APM Terminal and KEEP for establishing a modern reading room at the school. She pleaded that KEEP continue working with the school through other educational and capacity development programs.
The District Education Officer for Greater Monrovia District #2B, Madam Hannah K. Flomo Saywrayne applauded KEEP and APM Terminals for making a big mark in the education sector of Liberia. She cautioned the school’s administration and students to take good care of the reading room and everything in it.
Mr. Clay Crain, managing director at APM Terminal expressed gladness that the company is giving back to the community. In his own words, “We are glad and grateful to KEEP and the APM family to give back to the community. “KEEP and the APM terminals share the same vision of improving education in Liberia. We are grateful to Marvii Sonii school for the collaboration, we look forward to doing more and seeing a new Liberia.”
On behalf of the Executive Director of the Kids’ Educational Engagement Project, Mrs. Brenda-Brewer Moore, Mr. Albert Thoudou thanked APM Terminals for the shared vision with KEEP Liberia and for supporting KEEP’s work in Liberia since 2014.
