KEEP Intern meets with President Boakai

On July 20, 2024, at the EJS Ministerial Complex, the President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency President Joseph N. Boakai met with the youths of Liberia in a Town Hall Dialogue Meeting.

The theme of the meeting was ‘Building a New Liberia for All Liberians’, intended to give the young people of Liberia a space to express themselves and propose challenges and recommendations for solutions to the national government.

We are excited to share that our intern, Victoria Y Miazee, an aspiring educator and lawyer raised some important points to the President on issues of inclusion of the disabled community in such dialogues so that the voices of people living with disabilities can be heard. Victoria also emphasized the need for the availability of scholarship opportunities for people with disabilities to learn and contribute meaningfully to society.

These recommendations were highly taken into consideration by the President and he pledged his commitment to addressing them.

We are proud of Victoria and her intentional efforts to challenge the stereotypes around people living with disabilities and her passion for advocacy for the inclusion of the disabled in every aspect of society.
